In 1921 a group of local leaders banded together to form a company for the purpose of procuring a reliable supply of petroleum products at a reasonable price. Thus forming Cottonwood Co-op Oil Company, and the world's first oil cooperative. 

In response to their patrons' needs, the company has evolved to also provide products and services in, LP Gas, Agronomy, Heating & Cooling, Plumbing, and Grain Drying and Handling Equipment.

The Administrative Office, C-Store and Agronomy Center are located in Cottonwood, with branch Auto Service Centers in Cottonwood and Wood Lake. 

While the company takes pride in being progressive and pro-active in meeting customer's needs, it has not compromised its founding principles of integrity and honesty in serving its customers owners and the community.
