Fall Housekeeping:
If you have any mini-bulk chemical tanks please return them as soon as possible so that they can be cleaned, winterized and inspected for next year. Not all of the tanks currently in service will be legal DOT containers next year. It is better not to have any unpleasant surprises when you want to pick up bulk chemicals next spring.
We can end the early season speculation about whether the aphid infestation would be heavy or light and why. Final score for the 2010 aphid season was about 32,000 acres treated. If you are really bored this winter you can calculate how many aphid obituaries may have had to be written.
We have completed the fall fertilizer recommendations for most of the fields. It would be very helpful if you could set up a time to review them before we begin to harvest. We have also identified the fields that are probably due to be retested. You can find out which fields you want to soil sample and we can have them ready to go as soon as you let us know that they are harvested.
